Driving To Vegas

We had every intention of leaving very early in the morning but as we didn't get to bed 'till about 2AM and very pissed we started for Vegas at about 8Am. I hvent drivn on the right side of the road in a left hand drive car for nearly 10 years and it is very strange. The hardest part is at an intersection. My natural instinct is to turn into the left side of the street and I had to remind myself to drive on the right side continually.

It's about 400 miles to Vegas from LA so its a blody long trip. I had directions how to leave the city and we made it on to the freeway with no problems. What a boring drive it is, I would never do it again. When you drive in the countryside in Australia you see trees, farm annimals, houses and other signs of life. For 250 miles before Vegas there is nothing, just streams of cars on the freeway. No trees, no annimals, no nothing.

At about 10AM we stopped at a Wendys burger joint for breakfast. I had a spicy chicken burger, hoping that I would not get something that tasted like cardboard. Wrong again. American food must be the most tasteless crap that I have eaten in my life and they don't eat vegetables. Even in restaurants, no broccoli, no cauli, no potato, no capsicum. If it's not deep fried in batter it's not on the menu.

We arrived in Vegas and checked in. Nice big room two double beds and great views of The Strip. Looking good. We went down to have a look and I lost my daily allotment on the machines in the first hour. Not good machins lke in Australia where you can have a bit of fun with em just bloody bar machines and a few other ones like the ones that sit idle in the clubs back home.

We went to The American Grill for lunch and I ordered a Steak with mashed potato. AAHH vgetables as last if only mashed potato. MY FUCKEN STEAK WAS DEEP FRIED. and the mash had big hard bits in it.

Back to the gaming and I got $100 chips and played blackjack. After an hour I was bored and $30 ahead so I quit and found Leeroy on a machine and the cunt had won $300. So I sat on a machine next to him and lost anothe $150 so I quit and watched him.

At about 10PM we went walking and went to a food joint. I ordered a burger which wasn't bad. I started day dreaming of my sisters roasts with veges and gravy. I'm craving green veges.

back to the casino for a sleep, tommorow is a gambling free day and we are going sight seeing.

At 11PM a gridlock traffic jam in The Strip
